Terms of Service
Last updated 5 June 2026
Welcome to Bootly. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a plain-English summary of the rules for using our marketplace. They are written to be clear rather than exhaustive, and do not yet constitute final legal advice — a complete agreement will be published before public launch.
1. About these terms
Bootly (“we”, “us”) operates a UK marketplace that lets members buy and sell pre-loved fashion. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Bootly.
2. Your account
You must be at least 18 years old to use Bootly. You’re responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything that happens under your account. Keep your details accurate and up to date. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms.
3. Selling
When you list an item you confirm that you own it, that you’re entitled to sell it, and that your description and photos are honest and accurate. Listing is free and you keep 100% of the price you set. Once an item sells, you agree to post it promptly using the prepaid Bootly shipping label.
4. Buying
When you buy an item, you enter into a contract with the seller — Bootly facilitates the transaction. You agree to pay the item price, the Buyer Protection fee and the shipping cost shown at checkout. After delivery, please confirm receipt promptly if everything is as described.
5. Fees & payments
Buyers pay a Buyer Protection fee at checkout (70p plus 5% of the item price), along with the cost of shipping. Sellers pay no listing or selling fees and keep the full item price. Payments are processed securely through our payment partner; funds are held and released to the seller once the order completes.
6. Shipping
The buyer chooses a carrier and pays for delivery at checkout. We generate a prepaid, tracked label for the seller to use. Always ship with the Bootly label so the order stays tracked and protected. Risk passes on delivery, confirmed by tracking and the buyer’s confirmation of receipt.
7. Buyer Protection & disputes
Eligible purchases are covered by Buyer Protection: you may be entitled to a refund if an item never arrives or is significantly not as described. If there’s a problem, open a dispute from the order page rather than confirming receipt. We review disputes fairly using the evidence both sides provide. Buyer Protection applies only to orders paid for through Bootly checkout.
8. Prohibited items & conduct
Bootly is for genuine, legal fashion items. You must not list counterfeit goods, stolen items, anything unsafe or illegal, or items that infringe someone else’s rights. You must not harass other members, arrange payment off-platform, send spam, or attempt to defraud anyone. Breaking these rules can lead to removal of listings and closure of your account.
9. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos and text you upload. By posting them you grant Bootly a licence to display and promote them in connection with the service. Don’t upload content you don’t have the right to use.
10. Liability
Bootly provides the marketplace and facilitates transactions, but the sales contract is between buyer and seller. To the extent permitted by law, we’re not liable for the acts of members. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under UK consumer law.
11. Changes & contact
We may update these Terms from time to time; we’ll post the new version here with an updated date. For anything you’re unsure about, email support@bootly.market or visit the Help centre.
